Dawna was wonderful! She is very patient, and takes her time to explain the process and concepts that are foreign to those not familiar with the real estate realm. One of the things that I really appreciate about her is that Dawna is very proactive. Prior to the listing, she recommended various actions that helped to promote the property which also made the sale process to go smoothly. Besides her professional knowledge, she is a good person. That made the whole experience even better. We cannot thank her enough!
- Consider Holiday Marketing- Add a little marketing flair with holiday lights on your “for sale” sign. Remember to keep it simple and non-religious with holiday décor and lights.
- Be flexible- Keep in mind that at this time of year, buyers have limited schedules, just like you do. Make it as easy as possible to arrange a viewing and see your property on relatively short notice.
- Keep weather outside- Anticipate less-than-perfect weather by having an attractive tidy door mat for shoe cleaning, and have shoe coverings available by your entry. If you have written instructions to buyers about removal of footwear, have it appear friendly and professional.
- Light the way- Leave as many lights on as possible during showings. Many buyers see properties after work, at a time where the days are shorter and there is less natural light.
- Sell Vacant- If your financial situation allows you to move out before your home is on the market, this will minimize intrusions into your personal living situation (and decor) during the holidays.
